Travelling to Hope Vineyard

There are many ways to reach us

We meet on Sundays at Greyfriars Catholic Secondary School, Cricket Road, OX4 3DR. See Google Maps for the location (link). The school is next to St Frideswide Primary School, with Greyfriars being on the left as you enter from the main entrance. The two schools have separate gates and entrances. There are signs for St Frideswide’s at the top of Shelley Road/Cowley Road and again on Cricket Road so follow these signs.

There is parking at the school if you choose to drive, as well as places to lock up bikes near the entrance. Once through the main gates follow the Hope Vineyard Church signage to find us.

Sunday Breakfast: On the 1st Sunday of each month, we have Sunday Breakfast in the ‘Dining Hall’, which also has a sign for ‘Restaurant’.

Sunday Services: On the 2nd, 3rd and 4th Sunday of each month, walk to the side of the Dining Hall and find us in the ‘Main Hall’ (the entrance is in the ‘rotunda’, which is a circle of buildings) and this is for our ‘Sunday Service’.

How to find us

Wherever you are coming from, you will need to access Greyfriars School from the Cricket Road side of the school.

Depending on where you are coming from, when looking at a map, there are cut throughs from Iffley Road (on the west), taking roads or the foot/cycle path to the north side of Florence Park. From other directions, you can approach using Cricket Road (on the north), Rymers Lane (on the south), or cut through to Cricket Road from Cowley Road (on the east) using Shelley Road or Howard Street.

You can cycle from wherever you want to! Follow the instructions above for ‘walking’ and come through the entrance on Cricket Road. Please lock your bike at the bike shelter near the main entrance of the school.

Driving: Parking is free within Greyfriars School. However, Greyfriars School is only accessible by car from the Cowley Road side, so you will need to cut through to Cricket Road on Shelley Road or Howard Street.

(There is a barrier to stop cars/ motorbikes on Cricket Road, which is just south of the school, near Florence Park. Therefore although it looks like one street, there is no vehicular access to Rymers Lane from Cricket Road).

The nearest bus stops are on Cowley Road, but you can walk from bus stops on Between Towns Road or Iffley Road depending on which way you are approaching the school.

Mid-week, you’ll find the ‘Small Steps’ project and Community Wednesdays at ‘Hope Oxford’ in Templars Square Shopping Centre, Cowley, (see Small Steps page for further details and location)
